Week of January 30-February 3rd

Upcoming events:
FEBRUARY:

Wednesday 1st-Early Out/PD 12:30 Dismissal
-Global Play Day
Monday 6th-WETAP 6:30pm in the Learning Lab
Wednesday 15th-Early Out/PD 12:30 Dismissal

Important Reminder: Students should be practicing their multiplication facts every night. They brought home their fact cards before the holidays. They can also practice online. Mulitplication.com is one site they could use to practice. Everyone understands the concept of multiplication and division but some are still needing to draw a picture out to find the answers so nightly practice would be very beneficial.

Conference nights:
Tuesday 21st-Parent/Teacher Conferences 4-8pm
Thursday 23rd-Parent/Teacher Conferences 4-8p
I will send out emails with the date/time for your conferences. Sibling conference have been coordinated the best we could.

Congratulations to all our Spelling Bee participants and to Edith the Spelling Champ!

Welcome to 2017!

Just a few things...

January 13- Spelling test and homework sheets due
January 20- No School
January 27- Spelling Bee (for those that signed up)

Our third grade Journeys stories next week have been a section of Ramona Quimby, Age 8 and Imagine a Recipe. One of the skills are working on is reviewing steps in order. For example, “first they mixed the batter and then they rolled out the dough”…etc.
As an added bonus, we’d like to create a class recipe book. You and your child may find a favorite recipe, holiday recipe or any other recipe that is a family favorite.
Please send a copy of the recipe to school with your child by Tuesday, January 17th. We will design, organize, illustrate, and publish a class recipe book.
